Did you know that the Affordable Health Care Act or Obama Care is more than 1,000 pages explaining the bill.  Have you looked into it?  Are you interested in reading over 1,000 pages to understand the bill?  I sure as heck am not interested in reading over 1,000 pages.  I would love someone to explain it to me and dumb it down a bit so that I can understand it.  What I do understand though, I will be talking about in this post.  I am sure I will miss a lot of points, maybe even important or valid points but I will do my best to present both sides of the argument.  Maybe you will be able to sense some of my biased opinions and that is okay.  If you have other opinions or points you would like to share or like me to consider, please leave a comment and share with me as I am always open to new ideas and perspectives.

Do you have health insurance through ObamaCare or the Health Insurance Market Place?  Did you have insurance prior to ObamaCare and do you still have the same insurance that you had prior to ObamaCare taking effect?  Maybe you are one of the individuals that had great insurance prior to ObamaCare and you still have the same great plan.

On the other hand, there are those that may have not been so blessed by having a good insurance plan or maybe you did not have insurance at all.    They were forced into getting insurance thanks to the new law.  Were you one who had to sign up for insurance because you were forced into it and you didn’t want to be penalized?  One of the major cons of ObamaCare is that people feel forced into getting insurance.  If you don’t sign up for health insurance then you are taxed 1% of your income or $95 fine at least that is what they charged for the first year.  How lame is it that the tax is in place to make up for the 6 million people who chose not to get health insurance through ObamaCare?  Do you like being forced into things?  I sure do not.

So, ObamaCare is geared towards low or middle income businesses and families.  There are some hurdles that those who earn a lot of money will face.  Larger firms that don’t provide insurance for their employees are some that have faced these obstacles.

The question one should ask is this, does the cost outweigh the benefits?  Those who make more money will find that there probably will be negative financial effects.  Do you believe that all Americans benefit from the new rights given to us?  So there is no gender discrimination.  That is great!  There is a guarantee of coverage for preexisting conditions.  That is great!  Is that really all of the pros to ObamaCare?  Oh, and do not mind that the insurance premiums will most likely go up.  Will the quality of your insurance really be better?

Are we really given more rights and protections through Obamacare?  Is it really more affordable?  Did Obamacare really help tens of millions get high-quality health insurance?  There are so many options out there, does this complicate things for you in choosing an insurance plan?

Did you know that insurances have to cover sick people?  Because of this, the costs of everyone’s insurance goes up.  If you don’t have insurance but would like to enroll in ObamaCare, you have to apply for coverage during their annual open enrollment periods.  If you forget to pay your monthly premium you will have to pay a fee and then you will not be allowed to apply again for coverage until the next open enrollment.  So, 5.7 million people are left without coverage options because they are low income families.  Did you know that CHIP was expanded?  The CHIP program is now offered to 9 million children and is funded by the state and the government.

ObamaCare does offer preventative services which I believe is a good thing.  Also, you can be on your parent’s insurance plan until the age of 26.

If you are a business owner and have more than 50 employees that are full-time you have to provide coverage to your employees.  As a result, some of these businesses have had to have their employees cut back on their hours so that they don’t qualify through their employment for insurance.  If you do have coverage through your employer, you will not be able to qualify for any tax credits or assistance.

On the other hand do you own a small business?  Maybe you have less than 25 full-time employees.  If you do have less than 25 full-time employees you may qualify for tax credits towards your premium costs.

In order for the government to keep ObamaCare up and going, the have to be profiting.  What does that mean?  That means that we will have higher healthcare costs compared to other countries.
